Holy cow... I love my BYU Cougars. I just finished watching tonight's opening game against #3 Oklahoma in the new NFL Cowboys (insert hiss) stadium. My precious boys ROCKED THAT GAME! I may have lost my voice. I really miss that stadium energy but loved loved loved watching instant replays and getting close ups on all the action.

Final score: Cougars 14 Sooners 13

back to life... back to reality

So, it's been pointed out that I have not blogged in a while. I'm going to blame it on the fact that I have been celebrating BIRTHDAY MONTH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yep, I'm determined to party for as long as I can get away with it. As part of the "Happy Birthday to Me" motto that I'm following, I recently vacationed for 16 solid days. Jealous?! It was great. More details are to come but in those 16 days I visited VA, PA, and FL. I got to spend precious time with family and friends. On top of that I: was saved by Spider Man; was sneezed on by Shrek; helped Will Smith kill a load of aliens; made a movie with Christopher Walken; was in a boat attacked by Jaws; almost lost my head to T-Rex; awed by Shamu and pals; rhymed with Dr. Suess; got worked over by Thing 1 and Thing 2; joined the Joe's; and almost got carried away by a Twister... among other things. More details to come I promise.

For those of you that I was unable to see I'm sorry... I wish I could take a year off of work and come spend time with each of you. I miss you!

my life as a musical

It is no secret that I love music. Love it! Unfortunately I am not mega gifted in the music arena. I can usually carry a tune and I know how to sway with the beat. Rumor has it that I taught old MJ a thing or two. But in all seriousness, I do carry a particular gift for hearing a word or phrase in conversation and instantaneously matching it to a song which then plays in my head until something else comes along. This comes in handy when playing games where you have to think of the most songs that contain a particular word. I was not aware of this issue until I went to college. Several of my friends would tease or joke when all of a sudden I was singing out loud in response to some verbal exchange. Since then I have become more aware that I have a tendency to fall into the whole speak and sing routine... but, every once in a while I find myself singing a tune without any idea of how it got started.

Which brings me to my reason for posting... the need to share... to purge the song that has been plaguing my brain for the past 45 minutes. I am about to go into a two hour staff meeting and I need to get this song out of my head so that I am not tortured any longer. It's hard enough to sit still and focus for that long without this particular musical delight. So, thank you to all those who will read this and suffer my fate. I don't know what I would do without your support.
