on the road.

So, I had this discussion tonight about how I take pictures (and occasionally a video or two) while I drive. Kids, don't try this at home. I can't help it. I think the world is so beautiful and I love to record the things I see. Plus, it helps me to stay awake and keeps me entertained when I'm all by my lonesome. There are so many fun sights, cool structures, and stunning nature scenes that I wish I could capture them all... as they are with the naked eye. Since I can't I just settle for second best ... a drive by snap shot. So I decided to share a few. Jean Marie... the wisteria colored tree shots and monster mouth truck pic are for you. :)

Shots taken during various trips from SC to VA and back. Most highway shots are from either I-77 or I-81.

The Plains! The Plains! VA

Almost home. Notice the stone fences... Civil War era remnants.

Scenes from an alternative route home.

Ahh, Home Sweet Home.

I love watching birds fly. These little teeny birds fly in huge flocks back home. This isn't the best pic. I've seen some pretty big flocks and got so distracted I've actually pulled over.

Trip to UT to see my friends a few years ago. Special place in my heart for this view.

Trip from Montana to Iowa with Mom and the Emdog after Brian and Sheena's wedding.

Road trip to the Y with Emdog. Recognize any of these sights?

The reality is.... I have lots more pics like this. These are just some of my favorites. Hope you enjoyed. Good night and good luck.

  1. I love these pictures! They're amazing- especially while driving! Talented! :D I've only done that once, going through Haymarket at 25 mph- haha.

  2. Oh Aimee! I have so many thoughts that came to my mind as I read through your post...First of all, you live in such a beautiful area!! Wow! I think I understand a bit more the depth of your soul and how rooted you are...those pics are of God's country!! And then I just love the pictures of the sky...I have thought lately that God speaks to me through skies. Hard to explain, but I bet you know what I mean. Also, the wisteria by the side of the road is magical, and the mac truck in your lane is terrifying!! Lastly, this post has confirmed to me that we seriously need to take a road trip together. Like, wouldn't that just be lovely in every way??!!!

  3. Beautiful, stunning and breath taking. But my favorite shot (besides your barn, I relly liked that one) is the one of you! Earbud and all.
